Hints and tips for your application

The first thing to decide upon is whether this is the right organisation – and the right career – for you. So take a good look at our website and find out as much about us as you can, the media centre is a good place to look to see what is happening in the business.

Skills, skills and more skills…

Then have a really good look at the application form and think about how your skills and experience fit with those we’re looking for – they’re the vital building blocks for a successful career here at Insight.

You’ll need to fill in the form carefully to ensure that you are proving to us that you have the skills and attributes we’re looking for. Your experiences will also be a focus during the assessment and interview stages – so make sure you can talk eloquently about what you’ve achieved.

  • Completing the application form:
Read the form carefully and make notes as you go along about the points you want to stress.
  • Make sure you’re answering the question we’re asking, not the one you think we’re asking.
  • Complete the form as fully as possible – but be concise it’ll help your application to stand out.
  • Ensure the information you give is accurate, nothing is more embarrassing – or a sure fire way of not getting selected – than being inaccurate or inconsistent. Integrity is all important in a career where you are dealing with the money of others.
  • Explain any gaps in your experience/education, such as a gap year.
  • Ensure your spelling and grammar is correct.
  • Avoid jargon and mnemonics.
